Life stories in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino

Statistical items by ISTAT recently pointed out that in the province of Pesaro-Urbino wich has 350.000 inhabitants more than 3800 people are over 90 years old. So the province has decided to finance the ImagoOnline laboratory of historical research on daily’s life memory – University of Bologna - Rimini Branch for the carrying out of the Memoria/ life stories in the province of Pesaro-Urbino project.
The research has the proposal to run through the economic, political and social course of the province territory during the Twentieth Century using the “life stories” of a group of people who are over 90 years old.
From may 2007 to november 2007 have been collected 68 testimonies (35 women and 33 men), for a final result of 100 hours of video and audio recording, other 30 testimonies have been added from may 2008 to september 2008. This items form the “archive of voices” that has an important historical and social relevance.
The research is coordinated by Daniela Calanca (University of Bologna researcher) with the collaboration of Luca Gorgolini (University of Bologna), Marta Costantini (Province of Pesaro-Urbino), Giulia Nataloni (ImagoOnline University of Bologna-Rimini Branch), Gianluigi Di Giangirolamo (Final year student at Storia d’Europa Degree), Claudio Paolinelli (Cultural operator).
